violin bass 50th anniversary

Absolutely one only . . . . .

Here's one we put away to keep but sometimes we have to remind ourselves that we're a shop and we have to sell things

I can honestly say this is one of the finest violin basses I have ever played !

Hofner made a handful ( 50 ) of these in 2006 to commemorate 50 years of the bass first introduced to the World at the Frankfurt music fair in 1956 .

Paul McCartney bought his first one in 1961 and this one is based on his early 'Cavern ' bass

Why is it so good ?

well the obvious classic styling but the master stroke is the construction - this one has a solid carved table courtesy of he master luthiers at the Hofner workshop - its the most wonderful sounding resonant Beatle Bass you could wish for .

We we're going to keep this one in the collection , but since our move from London have decided to thin down a little .

Please be aware this is a brand new guitar ( so the VAT will come off the price for non UK customers :) ) but the case has picked up a few scratches over the years and the bass has the odd tiny ding
